I wonder if someone can give me some advice. I’m a relative novice sailer (Dinghy Level 1 + 2; Keelboat Level 1) and I’m in the middle of my Day Skipper theory. I hope to take the Day Skipper practical early next year. I’m based not too far away from Southampton.
Basically I want more practice but given that I’m the only one in my circle of family and friends who sails - that seems tricky and I’m looking for suggestions of how to get involved in sailing small / medium size yachts. I’m obviously happy to pay my way.
I first wondered if there are Sailing Clubs which have their own yachts where you can sign to join a journey but I can’t really find any.
I then considered buying a share of a boat but that still seems to leave me on my own when I actually want to go out.
Surely I’m not the only person in this position in Southern England and I wonder what others do in similar situations?
