Helens daughter who's at college wants to earn a bit extra. What boaty jobs do you think would be suitable? Genuine question, I want to help her out, but not give her something that would not cause injury or require a lot of skill. Or break her nails

It’s rather sexist to suggest “serve the G & T’s”… but I was impressed with a sparkly Grand–Banks in the Caledonian Canal who had some lovely young ladies serving drinks etc.:) But their downside was the crew coiling up their warps like a washing-line around the elbow.....
Personally I would rather let the ladies take the helm & I’ll serve the drinks….. but trust me!... no one will want me serving the G & T’s. ;) :D

The boats layed up waiting for the TLC, so a bit early for G&Ts. The mast is down at the moment which means there isn't much to grab hold of should she lose her balance. A bit too cold for the anti-fouling to be applied, but one for the future

I would pay a student cash for washing my deck and hull to a high standard. Not polish, just basic cleaning. A lot of winter grime needs to be removed. So stuff like that might go down a treat for this who are time poor but want to start getting the boat ready.

Yes, but with the mast down I'd be concerned she'd fall off, or get scared and think she'd fall off. She's not at all boaty......

OK!
1 Scrub and pressure-wash the whole exterior to a good clean standard.
2 Remove all running rigging, wash (replace as required) and replace / rerun correctly.
3 As the mast is down, check, clean and dry lube all bottle-screws, working them through their full extension ensuring that all locking nuts are in place.
4 Clean and polish (where safe to do so) all freeboard and topsides.
5 Perp (if required) and repair / replace boot-top.
6 Strip (if required) / prep below waterline ready for AF.
7 AF when ready.
8 Clean-out prep with acetone and flowcoat all internal lockers (ensuring good HSE).

I can suggest some ideas. But as sexism has already been mentioned, I'll keep them to myself.

Never let it be said that I wont rise to the bait

Well to state the obvious..Why do you have to provide the employment?
I was trawling the telly the other night and came across a giggling bunch of college girls, one of who did table-dancing to earn a few bob.
She earns £200 a night for heaven's sake.

I was thinking of dusting off my tassles........
