Was it very busy on Sat/Sun? We went of Friday and were expecting Preview Day to be mobbed out but did not think it was very busy at all compared to previous years

I know that there were various problems with traffic that day on the M25 etc - maybe that was the reason.

We spent most of the day on the pontoons and there were certainly no queues to view boats that we were interested in.

Even the Sealines Salesmen were stood talking to each other although their hospitality area was busy

we found it better than last year except at about 12 there were a few ques building up at Bavaria and elan stand. But the boats afloat were very easy to get on throughout the day. What was nice is that the salesmen this year were much more friendly and we saw non of the aloof attitude we have taken in the past. We left feeeling numbers were down.

Preview day was up for us than last year but that was probably because of the premier of the 47 but bloomin eck sat was manic, we had to close the viewing platform off around 12.00 as there were just too many people on the boats and the viewing area at one point it was getting dangerous, i couldn't even get on my own boat.

I am happy to report that Mrs Nautical's expensive cushions are still on the 47 but then Son Vida and Al haven't arrived yet /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I arrived at gate A yesterday about 11:30 the whole drop-off area was full with a massive crowd - maybe a couple of thousand trying to get in. The coaches weren't pulling in and the outer gates had been closed off to prevent car/taxis and coaches from pulling in. The first 2 footbridges were static like the M25. fortunately I was able to get in through gate E

looks like we were lucky. We were in the show by 10am, done the boats afloat by 11.30 and had a really good day wandering around the land displays. Even purchased a pair of crocks!!!!!!!!!!!

You can say that again. We got caught in it, managed to get off the motorway at Staines and onto the back doubles whereupon we got side swiped by some twat running a red light. Damage not bad enough to stop the car being driveable but the whole journey took 3 1/2 hrs as against the 1 1/2 hrs it should have taken
My impression was that Preview Day was less crowded than last year. No problem getting on to any boat particularly when you've got a SWMBO who marches onto every boat as if she owns it
Maybe people are realising that Preview Day is usually more crowded than any other day. We would have gone on Mon or Tues if we had had the time
