I am thinking of taking a trip down to Dartmouth, Yealm , Falmouth, and surrounding areas mainly looking at anchorages eg Yealm, Cawsand, upper reaches of Fal etc. How busy is it out there?
Don't tell everyone!Upper Reaches of the Fal: never a problem to find a place. Not for us, anyhow (both "out of season" - obviously, and in the summer months up to last week).
And super delightful it is, too...
sorry. My mistake.Don't tell everyone!

You forgot to mention the foul denizens have the plague...
Thanks for the info. Shame we can't get real-time Satellite ImageryThe only anchorage in the Yealm that I’m aware of is Cellar Bay in the entrance, or just before the bar, both open to westerlies.
Cawsand will almost certainly be busy, but not with the current easterlies. In suitable conditions you will always find space to anchor.
In Salcombe you can anchor off the town, or further up at Saltstone. I’m on the pontoon in the bag at the moment, it’s not overly busy with just 2 boats rafted up and 1 space left alongside the pontoon.
My son is in Dartmouth and it looks pretty busy there which is not surprising as it is regatta week. But you will always find space to anchor up beyond Dittisham, where it’s lovely and quiet.
not really... that would spoil the pleasure of discovery. Thanks for the info. Shame we can't get real-time Satellite Imagery
