how are they holding up? ours seem to be doing quite well with more than 30 entries for the autumn races running to Xmas split roughly 2/3 NHC and 1/3 IRC. Bit more than last year.

Healthy at the start and the end of the season. Poor in the middle except for regatta. East coast. I assist in the organisation of the racing. We've had some moderate success with a single & double handed series during this summer but still small beans. No one wants to go racing when it's sunny and warm it seems! :)

Pretty healthy on the Forth. 30 Boats out on a Wednesday night. However......

At 48 I am one of the youngest skippers in the yacht racing. That 30 has 8 Hunter 707s in it with some younger folk. Sundays are nowhere near as well attended.

So my thoughts are that as the folks with decent final salary pensions and mediumly expensive boats give up there is not going to be anyone coming in behind them. The 707s are going pretty well and have a future i think. I think there is 5 to 10 years of not much change then its going to decline or change.
