I saw in my computer a site hwo sell the admirality cards. I've never heard about them.
Do you please want to explain about the cards for me?

(Maybe I'm stupid) but: the cards looks maybe werry beautiful?
They looks verry colloured.

Do the cards describe full information? (Exept the small scale cards). In sweden we call them: over-sight-cards (Över-sikts- kort) = the cards who describes a big area.

Is the paper thick or thin?
_______________

Another thing:

(I could not post a message on the 'Cross Chanell' subject and prefer to talk here):

Where do I best cross the chanel?
I sail from Sweden and begin my crossing maybe from the Netherlands-coast (Holland- we say in Sweden).
I have read in books that the british chanel is hard to sail in.
There's a lot of ships, ferrys and other things.
Is the chanel foggy? I hate to hear the engines from the big wessels in the fog!
Maybe I start around Haarlem and goes to Great Yarmouth.
Don't know!
I'll hope you know better!

1. I think you mean Admiralty Charts. For full details, see here.

2. Someone else can advise you on North Sea crossings, I only cross from the Solent to places west of Ouistreham

Yes of cause! I mean CHARTS and I'm still to swedish. In Sweden we say 'sea card' = sjökort = charts.

Thank you verry much!!!

I have a suspicion its someone who has a Swedish bird hidden on his boat from time to time......
and is not too welcome at an East Coast Yacht Club

Must admit to having a laugh earlier in the day....its fairly harmless trolling

LESs RANTing, he may be genuine?

It is certainly likely, if you check his profile you will see he is an Albin Vega owner.

The annual Vega International Friendship Rally is being held next year on the East Coast at the Royal Harwich. It is quite likely that he is sailing over for this event.

If so he would benefit from any experienced advice re North Sea crossing for a first timer.

Quite simple

Follow the Danish/German/Dutch coast till you reach the Hoek of Holland
Follow the ferry (my kind of nav /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif )
Don't hit anything in between

He is genuine and Swedish and wants to sail to England. I have had a couple of PM's from him in Swedish. He might want to keep the boat here over the winter, so any suggestions are welcome. Boat storage is much cheaper back home and the ice question is valid if you are used to Swedish waters, so no trolling.

Genuine enquiry

That is my view too (also had PM correspondence)

Now assembling info re berthing options and trying to explain the unhelpful "clever" responses from some here.

I didn't thing it was him, just replying to suggestion by others. Some of the post times seem somewhat late/early for him. How're the canopies coming on?
