Mark-1,

are you referring to KTL, 'Keep Turning Left' the video series made by forumite Dylan Winter ?

He pointed his boat out of his home port on the East Coast, and is now going around Britain by following the guideline, keep turning left...

He regularly posts samples of his films here, and jolly enjoyable they are too, or better still one can subscribe very cheaply and get the lot, in HD.

That's just his witty ?? signature. It's been pointed out before who KTL is.

He is really referring to the shut down of the Portsmouth to Ryde hover service.

Thanks Vic, I did wonder but it seemed a strange signature...

Saw the closing down of Hovertravel on BBC South, bit of a surprise as they're by far the most professional Solent ferries ( or at least the pilots' consideration is while driving unweildy vessels ) and the prop' blades are contained in ducted cowlings; one can't help speculating 'metal fatigue'...

It came from one of Dylan's threads a few months ago. One of the silly ones pretending there was some evil organisation called KTL out to rule the country (or the world). Someone didn't get the reference (sound familiar? :) ) and asked "who the heck is KTL?". Dylan liked the phrase, indeed threatened to get a T-shirt made with it on. Mark adopted it as a sig instead.

Old as in yesterday, when the service was shut down at short notice by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency in an unparalleled move leaving passengers to find another way to get on or off the IOW !

Hope they get over this quickly, a very good service and as I mentioned before, the pilots are the only Solent ferry operators who make an effort to be considerate to boats, despite the relatively problematical steering of their vessels.

All the more conventional ferries seem to have been an Exocet in a previous life !
