Hotels in Athens

Just booked a flotilla starting and ending in Athens end of July, afterwards we are looking to spend a few days looking round Athens itself, anyone recommend a decent Hotel /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For a place to sleep for a couple of nights,we use the Best Western Zinon Hotel,in Zinon Street,which is a short walk from Omonia (SP?)square,and beside the bus stop for the airport. It's not a particularly posh part of Athens ,(where is?)but is clean,secure,reasonably priced,and has aircon,which you will need BIG TIME at that time of year,as Athens will be like an oven. Also it's within easy walking distance of all the main sights..Google it.

I stay in Athens often on business but as I am footing the bill, I always stay in the President hotel. It is an old tower block but recently refurbished and is really good for the money. i pay about 75 Euros a night. It is not too far from the centre of the city especially now with the metro. Have fun!
