Dunno if anyone decided to arrange a fresh water flushing system for the raw water circuit of engines and genset, as debated in this thread.
But if you did, here's another experience driven suggestion: throw another nipple T-ed into it, and include also the A/C raw water circuit.
I just had the A/C pump badly stuck from salt corrosion.
And during the hottest weather of the season so far, of course.
And right in the weekend. Aaarumph!

PS: with apologies if the topic content is a bit disappointing for someone, considering its title... :D

Interesting, how old is the unit, should this be done annually or more often.
Well, actually the pump is as old as the boat, i.e. one decade and a half. So, i guess I shouldn't complain after all...
But I'm pretty sure that it could have lasted for another similar timeframe, if not more, if it weren't for salt corrosion.
The wear from usage is ridiculuos in these pumps, they aren't run so often.
Re. how often to flush, imho with a quick and easy way to flush the circuit with fresh water, it would be worth doing it after each usage. Just switch to fresh water for the last minute, job done.
