Hi..... has anyone out there installed a system to extract hot water for showers etc from a Yanmar 2GM 20F. I'm about to install new, and it just occurred that the time to do it is when the motor is accessible on the yard floor, if I can afford it. Does anyone supply kits, or have sketches, or has anyone actually done it from scratch, so it works? Are there problems to avoid?
Any advice welcome.
Cheers.....R

with your fresh water cooled engine it's pretty simple. there is a short hose which connects the left hand side of the water pump with the heat exchanger: remove the pipe and connect the two spigots to your heat exchanger coil using car heater hose.

the water coming out of the heat exchanger is at its coolest point in the cycle so won't make your water too hot but if you still find your hot water is too hot you'll need to fit a thermostatic bypass to the circuit.

i have the workshop manual in front of me. if you PM me your email address i can scan the page & send it to you.
