Well, everybody, the central heating is completed and commisioned. And it is great. I have hot water (and a shower) and two radiators which are fan assisted. The fans have two settings, fast and slow, and on the lower setting use very little power. On the other hand, for a small yacht the output is fine. Not so powerfull that the saloon gets too hot too quickly, but a light gentle heat. And the main thing is that the pipes are just ordinary central heating plumbing which occupies little space in the lockers. I can heat the water while in my marina berth (or another marina) by shore power, and save diesel, but the boiler uses very little fuel. The calorifier is 5 litres, and gets quite hot (it is adjustable). It is close to the boiler and heats up very quickly, and will give a hot shower. I had to fit a pump to the heads tray to get rid of the water. That was relatively easy, But the system pressurises and stays able to pump water for days afterwards with the pump switched off. I think that there is trapped air in the calorifier which becomes compressed to give the necessary pressure to operate the taps. So my plumbing must be OK. Amazing!
Shame I have decided to put the boat on the market, but well there you are, plans develop and change. Still, I can recommend the concept. Do you think there is any future writing it up for PBO perhaps? After all, if I can do it, any fool can do it!

I seem to remember the same system of hot water radiators and computer style fans being covered about 5 years ago.
