I'm soldering some fly leads onto LED strips. The contacts are very close together and it's quite fiddly work. I was thinking of putting a dob of hot glue across the soldered joints once I've checked there are no short circuits, both to aid adhesion of the fly leads and to cut out short circuits. After that they will be heat shrink sealed as well. Daft idea with the hot glue or what?

Thanks to all as always.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I've used it as a poor-man's "potting compound" for various bits of electrics in the past.
