I am planning to extend the heating run on Midnight Drifter by about 4 M. However, I have been quoted around 30 quid per metre for the Eberspacher hose (60mm ID).

Surely there must be a better (by which I mena cheaper) solution?

Thanks - not sure if he is selling more than 1m lengths - have asked.

[/ QUOTE ]The ad says "The price is for 1 metre but if you need more that one metre, after you have selected buy it now, put in the number of items you need e.g. 4 items = one length of ducting 4 mtrs long."

If you are extending the heating run by this much, then the final heating run is going to be 6-9 metres. You will lose a lot of heat through the tubing for that distance.

That can be a good thing if you have designed your run so that it deliberately uses that heat loss to good effect, otherwise, it is well worth insulating the run. 3M make products that can do this either before the installation (sock) or after (wrap).

made from thinsulate, there is also thermoduct - which webasto claim increase heating efficiency by 100%

[/ QUOTE ]Look in your local motor factors for emission control ducting. It is flexi, concertined (stretches length ways) aluminium ducting and comes in a variety of sizes. It is available in upto 5m lengths and IIRC is around £3.00/m + vat, well at least that was what the last 5m roll cost me.

As it is aluminium you will need to insulate it to conserve the heat.
