Want to get some lengths of hose for the spares locker before setting-off this summer. Priority in terms of importance a) engine water intake strainer to water pump b) sink drain to skin fitting. The heads and hoses were replaced two years ago so should be OK. Engine intake hose seems to be car heater type (reinforced rubber) and the sink hose is wire wound PVC by the look of it. I do have on board fabric reinforced PVC water tank hose. If it fits, this may be OK in case of emergency even for engine intake, but it raised the question in my mind about choice of hose construction and material for the typical applications on board boat? Haven't been able to find any clear guidance on this, or whether I have the correct type anyway (37 yr old boat so all have been retrofitted numerous times by previous owners).
