Has any one seen or devised a method of restraining the lower main sheet block so that when not under tension it does not drop and destroy the newly refurbished Lazarette hatch which is directly below the Horse ? (no points will be awarded for suggestions as to where and how to move the hatch or for that matter the horse !) VITALBA.

Hooked to what - the boom?

Piece of plastic water tubing around the shackle and baecket on the block. Split it then sew round with waxed thread. If you are really handy with the needle and thread you can make a leather boot.
