The crowd leaving Lough Derg on the Shannon returning to Marinas on Bank holiday monday as we are just arriving

Hornets nest - And Froggie was unarmed at the time - A target rich environment. Photo was taken shortly before a U-Boat blew these PWCs out of the water - Kidd'n (wish I wasn't) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

7 of these roared after our wake, but I slowed to displacement speed. Later on Wednesday in the searing heat and blue sky, one crept up on us unnoticed and jumped our wake when we were on the plane. He was bounced clean off the PWC about 10ft into the air and landed some distance from his PWC - could have been hurt. I always slow when I see PWCs so our wake does not hold any attraction for them.

You could walk accross Lough Derg over the BH weekend, but we avoided the mayhem and came down on the monday with zero road traffic for a mid week break - empty lake - bliss, and not a 7ecking PWC in sight.

Later when the crowds had left for the N7 traffic ....

Derg Mid Week - peace and calm

Peace and quite - U-Boats have cleared the lough of PWCs

Hi Alt, The 'hornets nest' reference was targetted only at the PWCs not the powerboats! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The noise of swarms of these bloody things is my gripe, not the speed, and they create zero wake when planing. We could start a PWC club and move them all up to Lough Ree beside the Army firing range - kill two birds and a pile of PWC machines with the one stone

Looks like they could be effectively banned nationwide within the next 24 months as the remaining local authorites progress plan to implement blanket bans in their areas. The day of the PWC on Irish inland waters is numbered, and already on the east coast and soon much of the south coast too. What's their status on the Corrib?
