The charting for Hope Cove is very small scale and does not encourage a visit. A lunch time stop was used recently to map some of the features.

GE2KAP was used to make a chart prior to the visit and was much more accurate than either the vector or raster chart available. The charted drying rock 2.5m appears to be in totally the wrong location. Goody Rock is thought to be the 2.5m charted rock.

The RNLI mooring buoy is made up using a heavy sinker with riser, so there is little obstruction to anchoring nearby. The buoy was checked last year. At LW Springs the depth was about 2m.

There are a large number of keep pot buoys in the vicinity. Please keep well clear of these.
