Honda outboard twist grip

I'm trying to source a twist grip rubber grip for an old Honda 2.2 outboard. The diameter of the twist grip shaft appears to be 26mm which isn't a standard m/c or bicycle size and factors want to sell me a complete unit. Any ideas?

If it is only for cosmetic appearance, you could use shrink wrap for fishing rods.

Wrap liberally with self-amalgamating tape.

Halfords: bike handlebar tape.

Harley Davidson use 1 inch bars. The clutch side grip would no doubt fit. If tight, a bit of lube, if loose, evostik. If too long, cut it short.

No need for genuine parts - ebay is your go-to for this one.

Excellent suggestion. A fiver on eBay. I just need to find a use for the left-over 1.,5m of the stuff!
