I am looking for ideas to soundproof a honda 5.5 kva genny which is fitted in my Bayliner.
It is mounted on starboard side of engine comp and there is very little other gear in the vicinity of it .Before anybody says it .The option of throwing it overboard is not a runner. Economical ideas would be nice.
Thanks

Hmmm! I would have thought that someone makes a box to do this job. Have a chat with Mike Roberts at Marlec Marine of Ramsgate. 01843 592176 they actuall build gennies so must have an idea.

You don't say if it's air or water cooled. If it's air cooled you'd be better forgeting it trying to ensure you get the correct airflow will be a nightmare. If it's water cooled make a wooden box. coat it with Gelshield or something similar and line it with lead backed fire resistant foam.
