Honda BF6 and BF8

I read somewhere that the Honda BF6 and BF8 are the same engine with a throttle limiter on the 6.!!!

I have had a look at my 6 and found the throttle does not go to full and if you remove the cover there is a simple stop the is limiting the throttle.

If I moved this limiter and let it open a bit further would it give me a bit more power. Or is there something else seperating the 6hp from the 8hp.

I do realise that this is not advised by Honda and would invalidate any remaining warranty.

Hello Paul. Roger, with the Caracruiser was at Thurmaston at the Dawncraft BBQ, and did exactly the same job on a slightly larger Honda. The limiter is to do with rules for different countries I think. It's simply a throttle stop, to stop the throttle openeing fully.

Are you at Boston next week? I hope to be later on Wednesday. Depends on the weather as we want another fishing trip.
