Does anyone know if you can get a non 'standard' propeller for a Honda BF2.3? Reason for asking is that it seems that this engine has a rev limiter and it reaches this limit on my boat (lightweight 2.6m) at about 2/3rds throttle. I would like to get a bit more speed, however, I'm assuming this will require a prop which has a slightly higher pitch than the standard prop (4.75'').

Has anyone done anything similar?

Thanks

Not being overly technical, I would doubt that there is a rev limiter, rather the engine is only a 2.3hp with limited power. I use mine on a Seago 2.7m Airdec and it gets my 13st on the plane.

Steve66 will be the man to ask.

Or

Try a bigger engine.

Hi. There are no rev limiters on the engine. Aftermarket props are available but the pitch is the same. Due to the limited horsepower available if you altered the pitch the engine would bog down. I hand built an outboard fitted with a 2.3 engine block. I fitted it with a 3.5 hp prop and it didn't like it.
Hope this helps
