For a change, this isn't a cry for help, rather than an observation.
I pulled my '07 BF10 out of the Well on my boat today to give it some TLC and general service.
It's a great engine in many ways. It sips fuel, Starts well.. (Sometimes even with the Electric) and isn't desparately noisy. It also looks quite nice in a silvery grey kinda way.
However, It is between 42 and 52kg!!! And Honda have managed to make the cowling firstly out of flexy plastic and secondly so smooth with no jutty out bits that there is nothing to grab hold of to lug the damn thing around.
Yes you could leave it in the water for a whole year but once I pulled it out of the water it showed why that was a good idea. One of the Anodes was well over 50% dead in about 6 months and the water inlets were full of mud and slime.
So one very efficient, bleedin annoying great slab of a motor all because the EU thinks I might make a smell. Don't you love progress!!
