We are thinking of buying a Honda 10i Generator to help boost our batteries at anchor (2x104 ah domestic). Anybody have any comments good or bad? Many thanks.

doing the sums

i am planning to do the same. the 1000w generator is capable of 900w continuous which is just enough to run a 40A charger (according to sterling who claim 65% efficiency). i am told that you must wait until the generator is running before connecting the charger or you will blow the circuits.

Have got one. Superb little genny. Quiet as a mouse, uses a teacupful of juice per day (slight hyperbole), no messing around with 2-stroke mix. Seems to use no oil whatsoever. My experience is that it runs a 720 watt angle grinder OK, but will trip out if the grinder jams and stalls out - so it probably does about 800 watts. The 8 amp DC output is a little over-estimated. Uses a funny little proprietary plug design for the output, so when you get it, buy a couple of spare plugs, as you won´t be able to get them anywhere else. Also get a spare sparkplug as it´s not a common model. If the dealer you buy from doesn´t stock the output plugs or the spark plugs - beware. Has a very useful tickover setting on the throttle - set it to tickover only, then it speeds up if it senses a load - ideal when using power tools. Best little suitcase genny I´ve seen.
