Just sat in Blankenberge ready for departure tomorrow evening. For those interested we were boarded by the Douane customs yesterday. Was not interested in fuel receipts even though we had all papers in order. He took details of SSR/Call sign/Insurance/passports/radio type and Certificate details/qualifications of skipper/port of departure that day and plans for staying.
Have had a great 3 weeks: Royal Harwich-Blankenberge-Veerse Meer-Oesterschelde Goes-Kats-Yerseke - Westerschelde via Kanal to Terneuzen-Blankenberge and.... hopefully tomorrow night passage home.
We had 8.2 knots over the ground about 5kn of which were tidal as we handbrake turned into Terneuzen - awesome tides.
The mussel festival at Yerseke was great fun and good value. 30 euros for a berth and all the mussels and frites your crew could eat including live band and crazy dancing etc. For us 6 eur per person.
Weather has been manageable with plenty of harbours to take shelter and charming people. Even met a fellow ECF member in a Westerly from the Blackwater whilst at Aarnplaat Veerse Meer.
Back to reality - but looking forward to cruising chute up with NE 3-4 forecast for Weds eve and Thurs.
