\"Homemade boat was rubbish\" Is this Jimi\'s secret?

As reported in Torygraph about Jimi setting off for France in a homemade boad made of rubbish had to be rescued by a lifeboat after travelling - wait for it - 200yards!
He was hoping to row along the Thames to Margate before crossing the channel on a ferry. The vessel, made of fizzy drinks bottles, black plastic tubing and sticky tape, had a homemade sail, one oar and no form of communication.
He was spotted in trouble at 7pm on Tuesday near the Millenium dome.

Has anyone a picture of this great craft?? I think we should be told.

Actually, I was'nt in trouble just conducting a stability test and I had no intention of using the ferry, and I was using still drinks bottles as well as fizzy yins. The sticky tape was'nt sticky it was self amalgamating. This nanny pamby state is getting on my tits .. anybody know a good lawyer?

Missed that one, but did see apiece about someone in the West of England who had stollen 160 pairs of women's knickers. Name was James something.

Did anyone hear what happened to the pensioners who intended crossing the Atlantic on a raft made of Underground gas pipe with the ends sealed up ?

If designed and built well I think a sea worthy craft would be possible .You could fund the return airfare by selling the pipe for scrap /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I really do not understand all the fuss about this raft

When my club had a raft race I built one from large plastic
barrels with an outrigger made of 4 inch plastic pipe.

We won the four man class!
Had we made a wrong turn I am sure we would have safely
crossed the Channel.
