No.

A small portion of the old wave break pontoon was in use last year mainly to benefit the American tourists coming ashore from cruise ships. Reports are that this has now been damaged with yet more polystyrene floating around after last weeks big storm.

The damage to the Ferry terminal is now such that Dublin link is unlikely to reopen until mid January earliest.

I don't think a new marina is on the cards until major repairs to the main breakwater foundations have been initiated. Money was specially put aside by the last government in the budget easily not spent by this one.

60 years ago when I had a mooring in Holyhead Harbour I was told that when they built Holyhead Breakwater it was the wrong way round, if you look at a map, that makes sense.

I think its like that because there was supposed to be another leg on the breakwater that never got built due to money running out.

Still remember helping take a boat from spring launch at Gallows point, around to her summer mooring at
Holyhead. All that was visible was mast sticking out the water, wreckage everywhere and huge polystyrene chunks floating all around. Very sad sight
