Just completed a short cruise to I.O.M. called at Holyhead marina on way back to Conwy. Stayed an extra night due to strong winds.

Where we were moored there was no acces to water or shore power.
the marina is far from finished, toilet and shower facilities, in a portacabin, whilst acceptable are far from good.

The price for a 33' yacht.....£18.00 per night.... what a rip off!

At Douglas we payed £11.75 and included shore power and water.

holly Head is a dump anyway. Its what finally convinced me to stay in Plymouth and not move the boat nearer to home, as Holly Head is one of the very few staging posts round there.

The only way you can impact on these prices is simply not to go there - policy I've been following for years.

I doesn't have much effect but if enough do it long enough.................... who knows.

Totally agree

Visited holyhead marina a few weeks ago, V-expensive considering it's a building site. However they were good enough to give me a berth with electricity and water (of-sorts).

+Very friendly lifeboat men in Holyhead, got a guided tour.

unlikly I will be back.
