Just checked the diesel prices from those exceptionally nice people at Tidemill and it's £1.35 a lire on 60/40!!! That's the same as we pay for road diesel. What's it like elsewhere cos we need to fill up. We can fill with jerry cans at Granary - will other marinas sell 60/40 into a can?

Other source is for heating only - legit in winter but not now. Fox's sell good stuff but what's the current 60/40 price?

Where ever you go on the Orwell, it's around the 130p-135p mark for 60/40.
At current exchange rate (1.18) this works out at approx €1.55.
You can fill up with fully taxed white on the continent more cheaply than with 60/40 red in the UK.

Filling up with white next time I'm over - not only do you avoid any problems with overzealous officials on the continent, it's cheaper too.

Put 300 litres in at Shotley week before last £1.14 60/40 split, noted this weekend it was £1.19.

Burnham Yacht Harbour was £1.12 a litre with the 60/40 split when I filled up a couple of weeks ago. IIRC the MDL fuel barge at Woolverstone was advertising a similar price last weekend.

The Tidemill almost always has been an expensive place to fill up, we did our last 'proper' red fill up there and it wasn't that much cheaper than elsewhere after the 60/40 split was introduced.

Filled up at Woolverstone last week at £1.07 per litre on a 60/40. Not aware of anywhere cheaper locally, only downside was that it took half an hour and two phone calls (no-one answered on vhf) for someone to arrive and turn on the pump!

Paul.

The fact that H&S have shut the bridge to the diesel barge, so the MDL staff have to take their launch around to it everytime someone want's diesel doesn't help matters either!
