Hi, Hopefully back to normal after a hicup last year with contaminated fuel and having to turn back. Has anyone entered either Vlissingen, Roompot or Stellendam direct and what was it like getting a passport entry stamp.
Thanks in adavance

I entered and left from Den Helder last year and it was really easy. The Harbour Master rang the Douanes who turned up within an hour in both cases and stamped my passport. I assume it would be no different in any other Nederlands port.

I must admit that later I had taken refuge in Lauwersoog and the Douanes approached me off their own bat to check me. They decided that having my passport stamped was not enough and registered the boat entry as well. Once again very friendly and pleasant. When leaving Den Helder I suggested to the Douanes checking me out that they needed to register my boat as leaving as well and showed them the paper that the Lauwersoog Douanes had given me. The Den Helder Douanes ignored it and told me not to worry.

Another slight complication about five miles off the coast leaving Den Helder I was stopped by a Police boat and checked for any stray passengers I might be carrying. Once again very courteous and pleasant. fortunately I was not carrying any stray passengers. I was not the only boat being stopped by the Nederlands Police though another yacht heading for the UK (I presume) was stopped before me.

I believe that the Harbour Masters and the Douanes in the Nederlands are trying to make it as easy as possible for us to enter the Schengen zone. Not so in France where you have to take a taxi ride to the Douanes office.

The border police were in close attendance at both the Roompot and Stellendam lock, both inward and outward, last year in June ,very pleased to see I had already entered at Blankenberg BE but nevertheless gave me a handwritten chitty to show on my onward journey.Pretty sure they were ready to stamp me in should that be required.

We entered through Vlissingen in July last year although we carried on to Middelburg before checking in. We'd already sent a crew list to vlissingen@dutch-immigration.nl and just called them on the number provided when we'd tied up. They sent a couple of border police with passport stamps out to the Marina.
Similarly on the way back, we just called them and the border police came to the VVW Schelde marina in Vlissingen to stamp us out.
Very easy both ways
