Plan for the worst and hope for the best - it's sometimes cost me a couple of quid, but If I've made plans for worst case, the best case usually happens. If I dont plan for the worst, it always happens!

Not just with the weather.

The reefing gear has taken a hideous bashing this season. Only people who still have hank on sails can realise what a terrible pounding my body has taken this season.

I have lost interest in whether it rains or shines but please let there be less wind !

Whatever happened to high pressure systems in summer ?

Yup.... its been so windy that I am concerned that when (if?) the high pressure finally arrives, we'll be conditioned into thinking that 15kts is a drifter... and be dissappointed that the boat is only making 6kts in the sunshine... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, no problems as long as you are aware of the tides for the day you plan to visit. You can come alongside The Quay and rest against the wall posts (best to have a leaning spar handy) and then you can dry, or you can anchor in the bay on the Cornwall side of the Tamar just short of The Quay or if it's free you can pick up the mooring opposite the Tamar Barge Shamrock which is in her dock.
PM me with the date(s) you might come and I will send you predicted tidal times and heights (so that you won't need to do your secondary port calculations) as well as other details about Cotehele. I look forward to seeing you.

Probably be either PM Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th any time. or Sat 4th Aug

Crew change in Plymouth on the Saturday so probably not poss.

By the way - I am looking for somewhere to leave her for 1 week from August 5th, as we will come back for another week hols on 12th August.

At the moment I am on a waiting list from Torpoint marina, but wanted something not marina prices! The scots blood surfacing here I think!
