Holes in my antifouling...!

So the helpful surveyor made a lot of small holes in what was perfectly servicable antifouling and undercoats/primers.
What is the panel's recommended method of filling these in?
Can I just put a primer directly on to the now exposed patches of GRP, and then antifouling on top (which will inevitably overlie adjacent intact antifouling ), or is it more complicated than that?
Do I need to get a match to what's already on there?
Should I remove all the rest of the antifouling and start from scratch??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I would appreciate any advice!
Thanks
Jonathan

Just slap some antifouling on cover the bare patches. Ask the marina, they may have a little left in a tin. However, you say it's perfectly serviceable - do you mean you've just applied it or what? It sounds as though you've just had the boat surveyed; - if it's been out of the water all winter you'll have to antifoul it as it usually only lasts a season.

New boat - hence have no idea about these things!
Survey was the purchase one. Not sure when it was antifouled, but it looks "as new", and I don't think has been in the water since.

It'd be good if you could find out when it was antifouled...

It loses its efficacy after a few months ashore.... and if it hasn't been done, and just well scrubbed then you'll soon have a carpet on the bottom of your hull....

and its a lot cheaper to do it now rather than having to have another lift out!

PS... unless its a bit of a mess (eg flaking off), or you want to go racing seriously, then most cruising folk just flat it down a bit and bung another coat over the old one....

Unibond do a "Repair Metal For Good" 2 pack pste which can be used for filling(not only for metal) it goes on really well dries quick, then give a coat of antifoul over the damaged area.Motor factors sell it.

Urgh....

Wouldn't be my choice..... if a slight recess bothered me that much, i'd just put on several coats of antifoul to build it up... and in reality if the recess was big enough to need filling then its time for a scrape and refresh anyway....

Nah - hull is fine - by "holes" I was just meaning in the antifouling and underlying primer - down to the (intact) GRP
Ta for advice chaps!

It never does any harm to put a bit of primer on, so I'd slap some Primacon on and smooth off the edges before a second coat and then antifoul. A/F might not stick to bare glass or epoxy.
