This would be a tad cheaper and having just fitted one would be surprised if it was prone to 'gumming up' but is easily removed for cleaning should it become necessary.
The globus goes to the trouble of telling you how full it is when all I need to know is when to empty it.
My contents sender stopped working a few weeks ago. It is a SS tube with a float inside. The float had got stuck at the bottom. Took it out, cleaned it in a bucket and put hose jet in the holes until the float worked again. Not a pleasant job.
The problem as I see it was that I always tried to leave the tank empty so that meant the float at the bottom of the tube was perhaps resting in the inevitable sludge at the bottom of the tank. So now I am going to leave it say a third full so the float is floating in liquid.
