Hi, My new boat has a holding tank. This is the first time I've had one. I have a deck fitting for waste suction which seems fine. Although I have noticed the boat berthed next to me also has a rinse fitting next to the waste fitting. Apparently used for flushing clean water into the h tank. Should I have one or is there another way of doing this short of flushing the loo loads of times with fresh water?? Cna I for instance just fill the waste tank with fresh water through the waste deck fitting or will this cause a problem. The manual is in French and warns that improper use of the holding tank and y valve would result in an 'unfortunate occasion' !!

I can think of another ' unfortunate occasion ' if the fresh water pipe then fills the fresh water tank! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Doesn't bear thinking about. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Up here on the Broads, boats used to have a rinse fitting, but this is rarely fitted now. when the tank is pumped out, rinse with about 3 to 4 gallons of water then pump out again, repeat until clear water only comes out. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE RIGHT HOSE, YELLOW UP HERE, NOT THE DRINKING WATER ONE !
