This is our first full season on the Thames with our 37ft Birchwood, so I'm still very much a novice when it comes to boating.

I lifted some floor panels today and found what I assume is the waste 'Holding Tank' to my surprise it looked quite small 30" x 20" x 10" going down to a slight v shape underneath. I calculated this to be about 22 gals (100 Ltrs) capacity which doesn't seem very big for an 8 berth boat with two Jabsco toilets, also considering each pump-out is £10 +.

Just curious what others think ?

That could be anything from 50 to 80 flushes(between the two), which is quite a few trips to the reading room. My holding tank's the same size and I worked out that spending a penny costs about 12p, which is well worth the convenience. Sounds okay to me unless there's always 8 people on board.

We usually get 3 days out of a 20litre porta-potti, depends on access to pubs and facilities.
I think there is only so much ***t you want to carry around!
