My old feet need more cossetting now, so had popped into the chandlery to try some better boots out, problem is they carry little stock, and having waited to try some Henry Loyd boots on I find that my own size 6 1/2 to 7 G fitting feet cannot really squeeze into size 8 HL boots.

Anyone help me identify broad fitting sea boots please.

Dubarry will stretch them foc, you pay cost to get them there & that's all you pay
we have the Newport's & very good they are too

I'm always disappointed by sailing clothing. When I started, I bought a surplus submariner's jacket and walking trousers, not stylish but they did the job pretty well. I'll admit the new materials work a little better, but when my jacket is worth more than my car it makes me livid that they come in only one length fitting - one size fits no-one. It just proves that they are priced as a fashion accessory, not based on the cost from the Far Eastern sweat shop in which they're made.

I picked up a pair of Dubbary boots quite cheap a few years back and they are lovely to wear - when I can get them on. Now past my first flush (pension starts next month) most days I can't point my toe to get them on, worse when I find I can't get them off. Like other garments, they should come in a variety of width fittings and calf sizes. I feel we are already paying a reasonable price for all these features we're not getting.

Rob.
