They are all just amateurs!
If they want to learn how to do it properly, cheaply, and very effectively, they need to come out to the West Indies, and observe the lads from St Vincent in action with their pirogues.
A 'little' pirogue can still carry 500 lbs of ganja, street value probably US$500,000 (or more) which is a pretty valuable cargo by any account.....
And said pirogue can still do perhaps 50 knots with twin 250 hp O/B's on the back - with much better sea keeping qualities than that big beast with the 2,000 hp.
Oh, and these pirogues cost a fraction of the price of the 2,000 hp machine.....
