starting to clean up the engine bay after having fixed all the water leaks.
diesel return line being rubbed by the fan of the alternator, rubber worn away, fabric showing.

returning warm diesel spraying all over the alternator ?

I would suggest the greater risk was spray on to the turbocharger?
