hlb\'s dog fight

went up for a trolly, to start to get off all the dirty clothes off, tied the dog up, and then a dog fight. Turned out to be Mr & Mrs Lawsey's dog, Kwakers had just brought their boat round from Liverpool.

Small world.

Both dogs ok.

Re: hlb\'s dog fight

Poor b*gger (Jimmy, the dog, not Kwaker the man) is fast asleep as I'm typing this. Keeps muttering something in dog-talk in his waking moments about a strange man with a mop of grey hair. I think it's time to get him to the pets funny farm, poor mutt.

So, now that you have abandoned us in Plymouth..... is it anygood in Conwy.... plus's and minus's please!

See, pyh is 4 hours from here, versus Conwy which is 2.5 or so...

Re: hlb\'s dog fight

Not sure yet, had a little trip out tonight, the sceenery is stunning, not sure yet how much the three before and three after will effect us. Except, it will reduce the diesel bill. We'll put some pictures on and maybe, if your very lucky. Another MF Productions epic. The brilliant thing about Conway marina is, you sit in gooy mud hardly need ropes at all and the boat self steers into it's berth. Need to get used to all this tidal stuff, Devon and Cornwall dont really do tides, do they.

Near as I can work it out, it's a bit like the olden days. On a monday the local chip shop is shut, so you have to go to this other one, who's shut on Tuesdays. You cant go to the other chip shop because he's only doing suppers today. Where as Plymouth is more like the Chinees take away and open all the bloody time.

Re: hlb\'s dog fight

Watch out for the tides in Conwy. They flow very fast, 7 hour ebb and a high rise, especially on springs (obviously). If you tie a dinghy to the jetty in Conwy harbour it will be left hanging or dragged under in a couple of hours at mid-tide. Don't ask how I know this, I spent years there without falling foul of it, then went back on Mayday and my dinghy had to be rescued by a friendly local while I caroused in the Castle Hotel.

Getting in & out of the river can be very unpleasant in N/Wly gales over the ebb. But lots of great place & beaches to visit nearby - especially if you can dry out.
