Historical Inter bank exchange rates for Euro

Does anyone have access to the rate on 30th August 2007
I mean the Interbank rate
not the currency (cash) rate
or the rate a bank may have given you for a deal that day.

there IS a thing called the Interbank rate and i need to check the difference between that and the rate we were given.

have always understood that the market watch ticker on BBC web site, which refreshes every 2 minutes was "live" data and showed the Interbank rate.

I am sure there will be a banker on here who will be able to answer the question precisely but according to a system we use at work it closed at 1.479 € to the £ (or 0.6759 £ per €). Whatever the exact number is it won't be far wrong. If you were using a bank to give you a rate I'm afraid you will have been rogered.

Thats pretty much what i would have expected. We got 1.472 on about 60000 Euro's purchased. we do about that amount every month. so on that basis we arent being rogered any more /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
we have just changed the way we deal with our currency transactions and now do them through the "dealing room" which allegedly gives us a better rate......what we got today looked crap compared to the rate shown on the bbc ticker,.......so maybe you could post on Monday what the rate was you recorded for today.
NB this might be moved to the Lounge by then as i asked Dan to post it in the correct room.

yes 0.6770...however, when you talk about bank to bank, you need to talk about tens of millions as a starter. 600k wont command such a close rate to the interbank market.

According to Oanda....bid/ask: Min 1.46694/1.47037; Max 1.47866/1.47887
So a difference between two sources /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Actual on 60K transaction =1.472 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
