Where can I hire a boat without it costing me a small fortune i.e. Sunseekers @ £2k a day?

Would it be cheaper to buy one and then sell it again?

Yer can hire mine for a lot less Dom, trouble is shes up on the Thames.

Dom why dont you just dig some more gold out of the garden and buy a new engine, I bet if you did it would not be a green one eh!, try a yanmar next time, or stick a cheap v8 petrol in it as its so cheap where you are, sorry you have my upmost sympathy, I am now boatless at the moment I am feeling it a bit too.
Be on the lookout for me, I am looking for a big project say big sunseeker, fairline or princess thats cheap and needs some work circa 100k, cheers paul.
 
Dom - we bought a great canoe in Granville the other week - a Bic sport sit-on-top, great fun for all the family, yes, even Rich! Only £300, just think you could even paddle to Jersey in that!

I'll give a sensible reply....

I searched through the back of one of the mags and came to the conclusion that anywhere in the med was 2K! But on the Solent I found one co. doing a 30 footer for around £800 a week. They wanted proof you weren't going to break it but otherwise it was quite open.

Cheers might use that as an option for my August boating holiday as all plans had been scrapped so far.

No, you're not being taken too seriously, I'm afraid. But then again, I've never seen anything other than the normal charter stuff. Even 25' Sea Rays were a fortune a day in the med. Any update on the Volvo saga?

What size boat are you looking for, BTW, and where?
 
"not august" is the key - i reckon u cab negotiat after sept 1st and before july 1st . July and august even bathtubs get charter.

Depsol cd rent my boat in the med and it wdn't cost a small fortune.

If you get really stuck come and meet us in Brittany/Normandy, we'll be there first 2 weeks of august and have room for 2 or 3 extra on board, or bring a tent and camp on shore. Hey, you can even have a go on the canoe!

Thanks Rich, not the same tho mate staying aboard someone elses, no offence but when its your own and have the freedom to do whatever you want etc etc, I think you know what I mean.

Anyway would they let me back into Guernsey if I stayed aboar a Jerseymans boat?? ;-)
