Hi, I've decided that as I have time I'd like to service this myself. It's the air cooled model. Does anyone know where I could get a workshop manual/ further direction ? Many thanks
When doing ours, here is what I do:
1. Run the engine up so it warms the oil.
2. Drop the oil by undoing the 'sump' screw and collecting the oil. There isn't much.
3. Undo the top gearbox oil reservoir screw (the one above the lump near the prop), then undo the bottom one, collecting the oil.
4. Refill the gear oil by injecting it into the lower hole, (not the higher) until oil comes out of the top hole.
5. Insert the top screw to form an air lock, then replace the bottom screw, using new washers in both.
6. Refill the engine oil with exactly the right amount (200 ml from memory?). Check the oil level in the viewing window, when the engine is held absolutely level. It should be in the centre of the round window.
7. Check the spark plug and clean or replace if you're not sure.
8. Replace fuel filter if it's dirty or more than a couple of seasons old.
9. Grease up the grease points (look for the nipples and use a grease gun with waterproof grease).
10. Fire up and check running.
11. Enjoy.
Kal and all, thanks for that. The other issue I have is that when the throttle is far right is low power the engine always cuts out, cable gone slack ? Any ideas on cause and solution ?
Simplest thing would be to adjust the idle screw. If its not that, carb jets will need a clean
