Highlights of the European inland waterways...

Route: South NL to the Med via ???
Start: Potentially leaving April 2022.

I suppose you will be travelling either via the Schelde or via the Westerschelde and the Canal Terneuzen-Ghent to France. Either way, don’t skip Ghent, the city is more than worth a visit

Whilst I apologise for resurrecting (my own) old thread, there surely must be more highlights that we should aim to work into into our slow meander south! Is there a 'best' route for doing the canals slowly?

Might not help you much as we started in La Rochelle rather than NL, but we really enjoyed the canals from Royan, Bordeaux through to Toulouse. We turned back from there but the Midi continues to the Med although you would need to check depths as 1.4m might be pushing the limits
These are purely leisure canals so the pace is slow with some great overnight stops. And wine area too.
