When I went W Coast I had 2 pilots aboard. Lawrence's one and the Clyde Cruising Club one and when I had I studied them for where to visit next I was intrigued by what I read.
In one - "Loch Striven - a bleak and rather featureless loch, notorious for squalls. ....there are only the most tenuous of anchorages, ....The least insecure anchorage is at the head of the loch."
The other - "Loch Striven - A beautiful and isolated loch with lovely mountains and glens. Provides a number of temporary anchorages in settled conditions."
I wondered which of the 2 I would find.
I guess you pays your money and take your choice of the style of prose you prefer. Oh I found the later by the way.
