High Oil Pressure. Why?

The Oil pressure gauge on my Mercedes OM636 engine has suddenly started reading off the scale as soon as I start up. The only thing that I have done is replaced the exhaust water injector, I don't see why this should have affected the oil pressure. I fairly sure I haven't disturbed anything else.
The engine is running ok and no noticeable smoke, Oil level seems ok.
Anyone any ideas of what I should check for.

Sudden high oil pressure can be a sign of a blocked oilway. Sorry, I'm not familiar with these engines, but I would treat this as a warning rather than an all clear.

Haven't trapped the oil press sender wire have you? This wire shorted to earth will give full needle deflection.
