I have been looking for bits for my Jabsco loo. They are cheaper in dollars than pounds here, but this is eroded by the cost of post to the Uk.
I am being wuoted a standard-ish minimum of about 35-38 dollars, which on a small package of service parts worth 100 dollars makes a big difference.
Anyone know of a stateside chandler (they all seem to sell Jabsco parts at moreorless the same price) who charges reasonable postage?

Thanks

You may also have to pay import duty & VAT depending on whether HM customs pick up on it. Hardly seems worthwhile for smallish items.

The law is that you can import by post smallish vale items for your own use.It was made clear my offshore pharmceys

Problem is DHL and others that may grab your packet and load it with handling (thought that was what you paid for when posting!) and taxes that dont exist!!I took a packet i got from New york to the local customs office firstly they checked the listed taxes some 21% 9% etc the tax catagarys did exist but were Zero rated!

I was told they are well know for doing this.I asked if i could have my packet shipped to a customs post he said yes and gave me the address of a large office there i got another small packet with a camera lens this time DHL hadent grabed it it came by US mail

Im not sure if the customs would like to get to many parceles but it may be service??I dident ask was just happy to get my packet

POST CHARGES:I wanted a book from amazon cooks rail timetable europe /rest of world/ and train travel tips(i think) The books all cost around £11 each but amazon wanted £4 EACH even though they were to be sent in one packet!!!

In the USA i wanted data cable for my dELL x30 cable and USB battery pack came to $28 postage $97 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They weigh all of 30 grams together!!

Postage charges are a compleat rip off

CRADDOCKS landrover parts ship packets some being 30 kgs (new leaf springs shocksetc) added just £5 p&p!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they and others can make reasonable postage charges why not others???Same goes for online post rip off. i wanted a 2 giga SD card they cost about £18 i found one by chance in the town i was staying just a few 100 meters away they insisted on adding £8 postage for a £14 SD card! Natuaraly i bougth one at the local shop for £18!!!

Postage makes me really angry with the EEC and USA talking about free trade while for us the public we have worse deal ever! I bought my loran C from west marine and duty wasent thought of just the cost of postage!!

Agree 100%. I recently received 4 cans of Le Tonkinois varnish from France. They were delivered to my door by courier within four days of my order at the same "all included" price shown on their website!!!

Needless to say, Le Tonkinois is now a company that is in my golden book of companies that are a pleasure to do business with.

what is it you're after?

if you want to send me a message what you want i'll look into getting it for you and post it (if it's not too big / heavy, cant fit a whole bog in me suitcase) when i get back to the UK on the 15th of december

edited to add.... it's just that i'm going into a place (i'm in florida) tomorrow that specialises in heads for a new pump for mine

Thanks Nautibusby,

I need a:-
Switch 37020-0000 (about $42)
Service Kit 37040-0000 (about $38)

I can order and pay for them, and get them sent to your US address if you like.
Send me a PM and we can make an arrangement.
