I have a Bavaria 350 of 1993 vintage. It has retro fitted ST50 instrumentation and a Ratheon RL70c pathfinder radar/plotter. Updates are no longer available for the nt c map charts so it's time for a change. somewhere on board is the course computer that interfaces between the instruments and the plotter but a) I have no idea what it looks like or how big it is and b) I have no idea where it could be. I am at the point of removing interior trim now to trace cables but if anyone could give me a bit of a heads up on any of the above I would be eternally grateful.

The Course Computer for the RC 70 is a rectangular Grey Box with nothing written on it and a bunch of wires going in the bottom. Its roughly 12 Inches by 8 inches high. It also controls a Hydraulic Autopilot and in my Bene its mounted in the Aft Starboard Side Locker close to the Hydraulic Pump for the autopilot. It switches a nice bit of current to the Hydraulic Pump Motor so I guess that's why they mount it close to the pump to cut down on heavier gauge wiring.
If you have a Hydraulic Autopilot , look in the area of the pump.

I meant to add, If you google the instrument you will get a few photos that show the system components including the Course Computer Grey Box.

We have a st4000 with a wheelpilot so a bit different. I didn't realise it was so big, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. :)

A course computer is the brain of an autopilot. If you’ve got the basic wheel pilot that’s run direct from the instrument head then you won’t have one. It’s nothing to do with converting instrument data for a plotter.
