I'm new to the forum so thought I'd put an introduction here (I couldn't see an intro thread).

I hail from Lowestoft and have classic 1950 broads yacht that needs some work doing to it. It's moored in Loddon. So just a 'hi' from me and I hope some of you more experienced people could help me in terms of advice occasionally. :)

No relation to our dearly beloved sixpence of these parts?

No... I thought not.... mind you, no one would own up to being related to him anyway..... :D

So.. welcome to the forum... its a great bunch, and with lots of knowledge and experience that is willingly and freely shared!

Hi 5pence, Leo Magill is currently moored in Loddon as well (till august) so give us a wave if you see us, we've scrounged a temp mooring at Loddon boatyard alongside an old hire cruiser.

Thanks for the welcome - I'll try and chatch up with you @ Leomagil in Loddon some time. Jane (my yacht... well subject to survey) is out of the water at the minute but I hope all things going well she'll be back in the water July/August.

Had a look at Leomagil and Morgana on the web and they both look very nicely looked after.

Now I heard boat ownership was like locking urself in a cupboard with a wet dog tearing-up £50 pound notes... is this true? If so what type of wet dog should I get?

Its a pretty remarkable dog that can tear up £50 pound notes wet or dry.

hehe - well granted it's a small dog and i couldnt afford one it's true. but if i could it would be the perfect size for my boat. I guess Morgana's dog would be an Irish Wolfhound or Saint Bernard :D

hi to all - i'm another newb to the forum

I met some of you when I crewed on Marmalade on the recent trip to Ostende - great fun :p (still can't bring myself to eat a mussel )

Annabelle is moored in Chatham and we sail up to the Crouch and the Orwell as much as we can - and i'm busy gathering sufficient browny points (or is it brownie?) to sail her to Ostende next May
