Perhaps a little bluntly put? Unfortunately, so many small speed boats were built by companies in small numbers and the companies are now long gone. I rather liked the look of it, though - should be great fun. You may be lucky here, but you're more likely to find a specialist anorak in the mobo forum (my anorak speciality is my own brand of sailboat!).

Kind of mobo

It looks like something my nieghbour owned years back. He used it as a ski boat but mostly just for hooning around. I must say that in it was one of the few times I have felt nervous about going so fast on water. It probably had about 100HP o/b on the back. (doing about 50 MPH)
The hull is clearly designed for speed and looks. This at the expense of practicality. ie access to the bow to deploy an anchor or tie to a jetty is very difficult. Don't get me wrong looks and speed have their place.
You will have noticed however that most on this forum are traditional sailing people.
So much depends on what you want to do with your new boat. With a small o/b engine you could have a lot of fun on the many beautiful inland water ways of UK. It might be a bit impractical but look so good.
If you want it for water skiing that is a whole different game. You will need to learn a whole lot about that before you set out.
So the engine will be a huge concern if you don't have one. You could spend the value of a new small car on an engine. The modern 4stroke fuel injected engines are really beautiful. or you could buy a small second hand 2 stroke maybe 20 horsepower that will move it nicely in sheltered waters. But may have difficulty getting it to plane. good luck and just don't go out to sea very far in it olewill

well i found out what it was from the last owner !

its a 1972 glastron gt150 as in the 007 james bond boat :D

should be a good restoration now i have something to aim towards

I though it looked like one after seeing MBM's Bond Boats but I didn't know for sure and didn't want to look like a turnip giving you duff information :D

Something to aim for

I'm guessing that the original one-piece screen got broken and some-one has made up that split screen to get over the problem.
This is a '74 example
I had a 15ft Fletcher with a small cuddy cabin fitted with a 65hp 2 stroke. That would plane easily with any number of people on board. It would do 34 knots.
If you are planning to run it inland there aren't many places you can go that quick. You are probably limited to skiing lakes.
You'll need to have some salt water under you to be able to legally go quick, so a 15hp would be a reasonable motor for river or lake use. Cheaper too.

Just noticed you are from Edinburgh. Stick a dirty big motor on and go coastal.
