Hello everyone!
My wife and I have been thinking about buying a boat for the last couple of years and still haven't taken the 'plunge'. We live a very short drive from the South Coast and just off the A3 so the popular South coast water is within easy reach.
We took a new Monterey 315 (9.4m) boat for a sea trial on Saturday and were very impressed with it. The only thing putting me off buying it are the high costs of keeping a boat in the South of England which I calculate would be greater than the marine mortgage payments!
What I think would persuade us to take the 'plunge' would be if we could half-own a boat since that would keep the ownership costs to a more acceptable level. I still have to work and would only be able to use the boat at weekends so I don't want to have too restricted access with lots of co-owners. Does anyone on this forum have any advice on this sort of arrangement i.e. how to find someone, how to establish the contract etc.
Happy days!
Steve
