Here's something I picked up New Years eve '93. The pastor at the mission was from Bognor Regis and we spent an enjoyable evening with a load of Russian and Norwegian sailors. Don't remember how i got back to the ship.

Hi guys Thanks,

Did you STEAL that Mug? Or dont you remember how you got it. Somehow inportant for this persona-non-grata list...........

Suppose we gt into trouble for non-boaty topic (never sure how to spell threat, threath, thread, treath, tread , so I call it topic)

Was one of the first 5 ever to ride motorcycle in the dunes in about 1971 or so. Wonder when you were here, what you rode and if you came with Simon Fourie of Bike SA? Or how come you rode bike here in the first place. Would be glad to know, if it is too much bother for the public here, PM me please.

I am still riding, and if anybody like go fishing or go an a desert trip or dune riding, do not hesitate to --- etc.etc.....

Thanks Ongolo

No, you'll be pleased to know that I bought 2 of the mugs from the shop to put some money in their coffers. Still have both of them.

Also spent some time in Luderitz Bay at anchor. HM was a Scot. There's a lot of guano there! The sand dunes are something special, and I've never seen so much wildlife. Pink Flemingos everywhere.

By the way, these are all very suitable topics for the forum. The Mission to Seamen is definitely boaty and the mug is very practical. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
